Invitation to National Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) Training for National Core Trainers-NCTs

The Directorate of In-Service Training and Lifelong Learning (DITaLL), through the INSET Unit in collaboration with the Learning Mastermind (LM) Team, is pleased to invite all National Core Trainers (NCTs) to participate in the upcoming National Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) Training.

This training forms part of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education’s preparations for the nationwide rollout of the FLN programme in the 2026/2027 academic year. It is designed to strengthen foundational learning outcomes and ensure effective implementation of the revised literacy and numeracy approaches in schools.

The training will be conducted at Jerreh Camp as follows:

·       Foundational Literacy Training: 21st – 26th September 2026

·       Foundational Numeracy Training: 27th September – 2nd October 2026

The sessions will equip NCTs with the knowledge, skills, and facilitation techniques required to deliver the FLN programme. Participants will be oriented to instructional materials, pedagogical approaches, and implementation strategies that will support the national rollout.

As key trainers within the cascade model, NCTs will subsequently train National Trainers (NTs), who will then train classroom teachers across all regions. Therefore, all invited participants must attend the full training and actively engage in all sessions.

Your participation and commitment are critical to ensuring quality delivery, consistency of training, and successful implementation of the FLN programme nationwide.

Please find attached the list of invited participants.

We count on your usual cooperation.

Thank you.
