Performance Management and Evaluation Directorate (PMED)
The Performance Management and Evaluation Directorate is responsible for the establishment, promotion and maintenance of improved quality, standards and performance in all learning institutions under the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education. The Directorate is also charged with the responsibility to monitor and evaluate the sector’s overall performance against set standards 36 and benchmarks.
The Directorate is tasked with the responsibility of coordinating the conduct of all forms of assessment by the national assessment policy for Basic and Secondary Education, whilst ensuring an effective feedback system on learning achievements and outcomes.
With the oversight responsibility of the Performance Management system, the directorate would be responsible for the evaluation of teacher quality and performance, monitoring accomplishments on the delivery of Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and the provision of relevant feedback for performance reward.
Through the Monitoring and Evaluation unit, the directorate would be responsible for the alignment of project result frameworks to the sector policy objectives, whilst monitoring and reporting achievement to the government and all relevant partners.
